Daniel Curtis

Mr Curtis worked in the church until his death in 1853. It is reported that 138 were baptised during his time and added to the membership. Prior to the 1840's candles were used to light the church. Gas lights were introduced in approximately 1842. Also during this time the galleries were built because of the greater numbers meeting at the Church. They cost £230 bringing the total cost of the building to £1,051. Mr Curtis died at only 54 years old.
